This policy explains how OBDshield Pro (ABN 16 708 709 980), trading as OBD Shield PRO, handles your personal information. We comply with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
The product itself collects nothing
OBD Shield PRO is a 100% passive device. It has no electronics, no wireless connection and no storage. It does not collect, transmit or store any data about you, your vehicle, your location or your driving. This policy covers only our website and orders.
What we collect
- Order information — name, email, phone, shipping and billing address.
- Payment information — processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Support correspondence — messages you send us.
- Website analytics — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser, collected via cookies.
Why we collect it
- To process, ship and support your order.
- To handle returns, refunds and warranty claims.
- To improve the website and our products.
- To send marketing emails — only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Who we share it with
We share only what's necessary, with:
- Stripe — payment processing (Stripe privacy policy).
- Netlify — website hosting.
- Delivery carriers — to ship your order.
- Government or law enforcement where legally required.
We do not sell your personal information.
Overseas disclosure
Some providers (such as Stripe and our hosting provider) may store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect your information appropriately.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep your cart working and to understand how the site is used. You can block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may stop working correctly.
Security & retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep order records for as long as required by Australian tax and consumer law (generally 5–7 years), then delete or de-identify them.
